Good morning, rise & shine because you’re reading the very 1st edition of the brand new Tampa813 newsletter! I am so excited to bring a smile to your face every week as we all discover Tampa together.

My wife Annie and I moved here in December 2017 from Miami and haven’t looked back! We believe Tampa is the best city in Florida and one of the best cities in the good ol’ U.S.A.!

My goal every week is to give you everything you need to know about what is happening in Tampa Bay. Stuff like hidden gems you need to see, stories you may not see elsewhere and more, so let’s dig in…

NEWS BITES

Tampa International Airport is getting upgraded and will go from serving 25 million passenger to 35 million by 2027! The new international terminal, Airside D, scheduled to open in 2028. Full Story

This historic Tampa church’s bell hasn’t rung in years, but soon it will again! Hillsborough County awarded the church a nearly $100,000 Historic Preservation Challenge Grant that is, in part, earmarked for repairing the bell tower damaged by water intrusion and termites. The inside of this church is incredible with beautiful stained glass windows set in Hyde Park Historic District and founded in 1912! Full story

Logistics Specialist Seaman Ibn Powell, from Tampa, Florida (standing), and Retail Specialist 1st Class Baichuan Qiao, from New York, prepare to lower the pilot’s ladder aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Howard (DDG 83) during a sea and anchor detail in Okinawa, Japan. Restaurant Review
My wife and I ate at a restaurant called Bella’s Cafe which is authentic Italian cuisine. I had never eaten here before but I will tell you this, we definitely going back! 🙂 
It was very busy so we did have to wait almost an hour but we waited in the bar area.

Once seated, we ordered the Bruschetta as an appetizer and it was fantastic! So far so good. Then I ordered the Spaghetti with Meatballs and the wife ordered Pollo Piccata. The dinners came and our time in “foodie heaven” continued, both dishes were great!

The meatballs were a mixture of ground beef, prosciutto, soppressata, Romano cheese, garlic & herbs. Spaghetti had a reduced bruschetta sauce and parmesan and parsley. #tasty

I know what you’re thinking “why did he just order spaghetti w/ meatballs and not something more exotic?” Cuz I just have ‘plain jane’ tastebuds! 🤣 

Highly recommend this restaurant if you have not tried it yet, their pizza and everything else looks 🔥🔥🔥 as well! Check them out here: Bella’s Cafe
